Brakpan and Tsakane Taxi Fares Updated from 8 May 2026 — Greater Brakpan Taxi Association Routes Across Ekurhuleni
Greater Brakpan Taxi Association (GBTA) announced fare updates effective 8 May 2026 covering routes from Tsakane, Duduza Rank, Extension 10, Brakpan and Carnival Mall to destinations including Johannesburg, Kempton Park, Benoni, Springs, Germiston, Sandton, Vereeniging, East Rand Mall, Eastgate, Vosloorus, Daveyton, Etwatwa and surrounding Ekurhuleni communities.
The Greater Brakpan Taxi Association, headquartered at 144A Wenden Avenue in Brakpan, has published its updated fare schedule effective 8 May 2026, covering the busiest commuter corridors on the East Rand. The document, dated 15 April 2026, spans two pages of routes operating from the Tsakane and Duduza ranks as well as Brakpan town and Carnival Mall.
Most fares on the schedule are unchanged, which is good news for daily commuters across Ekurhuleni. The local Tsakane circuit stays at R13, while Tsakane to Brakpan, Springs, Dunswart and Heidelberg all hold at R25. From Brakpan itself, the trip to Johannesburg remains R27, Benoni and Springs stay at R17, and Germiston holds at R25.
The increases are concentrated on the Duduza Rank routes. Duduza to Johannesburg rises from R30 to R34, Duduza to Kempton Park climbs from R28 to R32, and Duduza to Dunswart moves from R22 to R24. Longer Duduza trips are steady: Pretoria remains R70, Vereeniging R65 and Sandton R43, with Benoni, Germiston, Eastgate, Sebenza, Greenstone, Rynfield, East Rand Mall and Alberton all unchanged.
From Carnival Mall, fares to Vosloorus, Daveyton, Etwatwa and Wattville are confirmed at R22, R22, R26 and R12 respectively, with the Spruit route at R24. Extension 10 commuters pay R25 to Germiston and Dunswart and R28 to Elandsfontein and East Rand Mall, while the Savemor to Brakpan trip is R25.
