Weenen Taxi Fares Increase from 1 June 2026 — Weenen & District Taxi Association Routes to Estcourt, Ladysmith, Greytown and Gauteng
Weenen & District Taxi Association has announced new fares effective 1 June 2026 on 16 routes from Weenen in KwaZulu-Natal to Ezitendeni, Kavumbu, Gomba, Colenso, Estcourt, Ladysmith, Emhlumba, Mhlangane, Greytown, Tugela Ferry and Gauteng. Luggage surcharges also apply for bulk goods including Impuphu, sugar, flour and rice.
The Weenen & District Taxi Association, operating from Weenen in the uThukela region of KwaZulu-Natal, has published its new fare schedule effective 1 June 2026. The schedule covers sixteen routes radiating from Weenen into the surrounding district and beyond, and it is the first time this association's fares are captured on AftaRobot.
Short local trips start at R12 to Ezitendeni and R15 for the internal Weenen route listed on the board as Local Ngaphakathi. District routes include Kavumbu at R27, Gomba at R30, and the upper and lower Emhlumba areas at R30 and R25 respectively. Town connections are set at R37 to Colenso, R50 to Estcourt and R70 to Ladysmith, the three main service centres for the area.
On the Greytown side of the district, Weenen to Greytown is R90, with Mhlangane to Greytown at R60 and the Mhlumba Thokoza to Greytown service at R50 — two distinct origins that the fare board lists separately. Mhlangane to Tugela Ferry costs R50, and the village link between Emacrossin and Ngongolo is R25. The association's single long-distance service, Weenen to Gauteng, is priced at R360.
The fare board also sets out luggage surcharges for bulk goods carried on board: R5 each for sugar, flour, rice and a six-pack, and R30 for a 25kg bag of Impuphu. These surcharges apply on top of the passenger fare and are recorded here rather than as separate routes.
